For the Greener Skies EA, the FAA has conducted a Public Outreach Program that provided an opportunity for community participation and input in the process. It is important to understand that every EA is different, and that the FAA develops its public outreach programs for each EA based on the needs of the individual communities. Members of the public often have information that can help to inform the decision-making process through their specific knowledge of places and resources and the potential environmental, social, and economic effects that proposed federal actions may have on those places and resources.
Two Public Meetings were held to allow interested agencies, groups and individuals ample opportunity to review and comment on the Draft EA. Dates and locations of the Public Meetings were:
- September 5, 2012, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM: Federal Way Library, 34200 1st Way South, Federal Way, WA 98003
- September 6, 2012, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM: Ballard Branch Library,
5614 22nd Ave. NW, Seattle, WA 98107
The meetings were held in an Open House format with display boards and with the FAA and consultant personnel available to answer questions; the evening also include a presentation each night at 6:30 PM regarding project information and Draft EA findings. The same content was presented at each meeting, the only difference being the introductory slide identifying the meeting date and location. The FAA encouraged interested parties to review the Draft EA and provide comments during the public comment period. Written comments were accepted by the FAA until September 14, 2012. The public was invited to comment at the meetings to a certified court reporter or by comment form, or by mail or email to email@example.com.
Also, submissions can be made by regular mail to:
